(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A rescued Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin continues to adapt to life at the Indianapolis Zoo.
Taz was found stranded on a sandbar off the Florida coast in January.
He was cared for at the mote marine laboratory in Sarasota, Florida for a couple of months before the Indianapolis Zoo petitioned the government to bring him to Indianapolis.
Area Manager of Marine Mammals, Tom Granberry, says Taz has gotten healthier at the zoo and is working well with trainers.
He's being weaned off formula and eating more fish each day.
He's not yet been in the same pool as the other dolphins at the zoo, but they expect that to happen in a couple of months.
He then will be available to be seen in dolphin pavilion.
