Purdue University Seeking Leads In Student Attacks

Last updated on Friday, April 1, 2011

(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - Purdue University Police have no leads in the attacks on two students over the weekend.

In separate incidents, two men described being approached and initially hit by one person with more people joining in the attack.

Neither victim was seriously injured.

Captain Stee Dietrich says descriptions of the attackers were vague but similar enough in both cases for detectives to believe they were committed by the same group.

Still, Dietrich says there is very little information to use toward identifying the suspects.

Dietrich says a Tipline has been established to gather information from the public.

Dietrich says due to the size of Purdue University assaults do happen, but these cases are unique because of the number of people involved.

Any information can be reported to the WE-Tip Hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
