(NEW CASTLE, IN) - The Henry County town of New Castle is planning a big celebration to honor the hometown men associated with the Butler Men’s Basketball team.
A parade is scheduled for 6:00PM through town that will end at the High School Fieldhouse.
New Castle Mayor Jim Small says the community takes the success of their sports teams very seriously and likes to celebrate their accomplishments.
Similar parades were held for the 2006 high school boys' basketball team and the 2007 girls' volleyball team, both state champions in their class.
The parade will feature New Castle natives and Butler team members Zack Hahn, Chase Stigall and Butler Director of Basketball Operations Darnell Archey.
Mayor Small says Blue II will also be in attendance.
The Mayor says he asked if he could personally drive the convertible for Blue II and his owner.
