Last updated on Tuesday, April 26, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is adding extra staff at Emergency Operation Centers because of flooding.

Members of the National Guard, State Police and the National Weather Service are among those at the OPS Center.

Southern Indiana is hardest hit. Part of New Harmony is under water.

There is a near record flood east of Mount Carmel. Flooding is also bad in Edwardsport, Hazelton and Petersburg.

DHS Spokesman John Erickson says Governor Daniels is aware of the flooding in the state, and the department is operating under his direction.
