(STATEHOUSE) - The Senate Appropriations Committee held it's first budget hearing Monday.

The bill has not passed the full house due to the Democrat walkout, but the bill did pass out of committee.

House Ways and Means Chairman Jeff Espich told the committee he feels the budget would have passed the full house with few amendments.

He says if democrats come back, they are willing to look at other amendments on the house floor.

Espich says there are a few changes to the budget since he presented the version from Governor Mitch Daniels in January.

Espich says the current bill has about $50 million less in revenue and spends about $38 million more.

There are 6 more hearings scheduled before April 7th.
