Police Trying To Determine How To Enforce Potential Texting Ban

Last updated on Thursday, March 10, 2011

(UNDATED) - As the Indiana legislature considers a ban on texting while driving, law enforcement officers have to determine how they would enforce the law.

Indiana State Police 1st Sergeant Dave Bursten says enforcement of the law, should it pass, will happen because people are destined to break it.

He believes other motorists will report texting drivers or those who are texting will be so distracted they won't notice they have passed an observing officer until it's too late.
