(UNDATED) - The Japan-American Society of Indiana has set up a statewide Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.

Accounts have been set up at four major banks across Indiana; Chase, Old National, Fifth Third, and PNC so Hoosiers can visit their local branch and make a direct donation.

All donations are tax deductible and will be transferred in a timely manner to appropriate relief organizations assisting the affected areas in Japan.

Indiana has many connections to the northern region of Japan.

Many companies with factories or offices in Indiana also have facilities in the region that has been affected by the earthquake and tsunami, and a number of those companies have temporarily closed factories.
