(UNDATED) - The American Heart Association is encouraging women everywhere to wear red today.
The first Friday in February is National Wear Read Day, raising awareness about women's cardiovascular disease.
First Lady Cheri Daniels says it's an easy way to spread the word that heart disease is still the number one killer of women.
Daniels will take the message as a part of her heart to heart initiative across the state speaking at hospitals, colleges, and women's groups about heart health.
