Indiana Gets Failing Grade From Lung Association

Last updated on Friday, January 21, 2011

(UNDATED) - Indiana gets a failing grade in almost all categories in the American Lung Association’s State of Tobacco Control 2010 Report.

Indiana earned an "F" in tobacco prevention and control spending, an "F" in smokefree air, and an "F" in cessation coverage.

The only non-failing grade was a "D" for the cigarette tax.

A statewide smoking ban passed it's first committee this week.

The bill exempts horse racing facilities and riverboats.
