(COLUMBUS, IN) - USDA Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan was in Columbus Monday to announce a set of grants aimed at making the nation’s farmers more energy efficient.
Merrigan calls this program "one of the pillars of USDA rural development".
Merrigan says the program follows the overall goals of the nation in becoming less dependent on foreign oil.
