Man In Custody Following Pregnant Woman's Hit-And-Run Crash

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The man suspected of fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash involving a pregnant woman is in police custody.

38-year-old Jody Lee Wednesday turned himself in to Indianapolis Metro Police.

On Monday, 24-year-old Maria Isabel Benetex-Acateco was struck by a 2007 GMC pickup truck and dragged about 100 feet.

Her baby was recently delivered via c-section.

Both mother and baby are expected to survive.
