Leary Sentenced To In Fraud Scheme

Last updated on Tuesday, October 5, 2010

(FORT WAYNE, IN) - Former Indiana University Basketball Player and Radio Commentator Todd Leary will not go to prison for his role in a multi-million dollar mortgage fraud scheme.

An Allen County Judge has sentenced Leary to two years of work release or home detention to be followed by two years on probation.

His agreement with prosecutors also calls for nearly $295,000 in restitution.

Leary might still get a prison sentence on unrelated charges in Hamilton County where he is accused of stealing high-end appliances from homes in foreclosure in the Noblesville area.

Leary, 39, lives in Carmel. He was an analyst for I.U.'s radio broadcasts at the time of his arrest in February.
