(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Just one day after Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard announced new rules regarding police officers and alcohol, a photo surfaced of a uniformed officer holding a can of beer at the Rib America Festival.
IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhammel says the photo is a misunderstanding.
He say the officer was asked to hold the beer and napkins and utensils for a guy putting rib sauce on his ribs.
On Saturday, Mayor Ballard said there will be "zero tolerance" for on-duty officers involved with alcohol.
