Lawmaker Proposing Change In Alcohol Laws

(UNDATED) - In Indiana, anyone who sells alcohol is required to card their customers.

That means no exceptions, even if the buyer is far beyond the "legal" age and looks like your grandma.

The law has been criticized ever since it took effect July 1st.

Now, there's one state lawmaker who wants to re-work it.

State Senator Jim Merritt plans to propose an amendment, so clerks only have to check the I.D.'s of customers who appear to be under the age of 40.
