Hoosier Soldier Dies In Blackhawk Crash

(ELKHART, IN) - Another Hoosier soldier has lost his life in the war in Afghanistan.

23-year-old Marvin Calhoun Jr. of Elkhart was one of nine soldiers killed when a Blackhawk helicopter crashed Tuesday.

The helicopter crashed in southern Afghanistan.

Calhoun's family says he joined the army right out of high school.

He was a door gunner on the Blackhawk helicopter.

Calhoun leaves behind a wife and a 2-year-old daughter.
