(UNDATED) - A new law in Indiana lets employees bring firearms to the work place.

Lawmakers passed the bill this year with overwhelming support, a day before an angry worker in Portage walked out to his car, grabbed a shotgun, and fired into his office.

Supporters say the bill protects the second amendment rights of Hoosiers, making sure they are able to protect themselves while they are at work.

Opponents say the law could lead to more violence.

Indiana police say it'll be business as usual as the new law goes into effect.

You still can't bring guns to schools, child care centers, jails or other public facilities.
