Congress Extends Unemployment Benefits

(UNDATED) - Congress has extended unemployment benefits which affects thousands of Hoosiers.

The new extension allows for payments for up to 99 weeks.

Unemployed workers in Indiana say they need they help even though they are out there looking for jobs every day.

Benefits will be retroactive, covering the two months recipients went without jobless benefits.

It also pushes back the deadline to file for extended unemployment payments until November.
