(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indianapolis police have arrested 19 people on gambling charges. Officers raided a suspected gambling house on the city's south side.
The arrests culminate a 3-year investigation. Police received complaints from a local college.
Apparently some students had gotten involved in the alleged gambling operation and some of them lost so much money they had to leave school.
Investigators point to 45-year-old William Fortner as the ringleader.
Fortner and 20-year-old Justin Kirkham face charges of professional gambling and promoting professional gambling.
