(UNDATED) - The cadmium which triggered McDonald’s recall of 12-million Shrek-themed glasses isn’t good for you, but it’s not going to make you sick any time soon, if at all.
I.U. School of Medicine Pediatrician Theresa Rohr says you only absorb about 5% of the cadmium you ingest, and there isn't that much in the glasses to start with.
Rohr says the paint wouldn't mingle with the drink itself, but could come off on your hand, then get into your system, if you put your hand or fingers in your mouth.
The Indiana Poison Control Center says it's had some calls, but people are just concerned, not panicky.
