Indiana Civil Rights Commissioner Resigning

(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - The state’s Civil Rights Commissioner is resigning effective today.

Tony Kirkland is leaving to become the Director of Business Development for an Indianapolis Construction Company.

He joined Governor Daniels' administration in 2005.

Daniels has appointed his Senior Adviser on Minority Affairs, Jamal Smith, as the new civil rights commissioner.
