(STATEHOUSE) - Indiana Supreme Court Justice Theodore Boehm is retiring after 14 years on the bench.
Boehm's retirement gives Governor Mitch Daniels his first appointment to the state's highest court.
The state's judicial nominating commission will interview applicants, probably in July.
The panel then sends Daniels the names of three finalists to choose from.
Indiana doesn't require legislative confirmation; Daniels' pick will take the bench October 1st, after Boehm's resignation takes effect.
