Charges Dropped Against Teen Who 'Threw Away' Newborn

Last updated on Thursday, May 27, 2010

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - An Indianapolis teen who says she threw her dead newborn baby in a trash dumpster has been released from jail and felony neglect charges against her have been dropped.

However, Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi says the case against Tasha Miller is not over.

He hopes to work out a "negotiation" with her attorney to get the real story about what happened three weeks ago when the 19-year-old gave birth.

Brizzi says if a negotiation cannot be reached, he will send the case to a grand jury.
