State Police Warn Of Door-To-Door Scam

Last updated on Wednesday, March 10, 2010

(UNDATED) - State police are warning people about scam artists posing as… them.

State police say they've received complaints from around Indiana from residents and businesses who say they are with ISP collecting money.

Complainants told investigators they were asked to tape the donation to the door of their home or business for collection later in the day.

On some occasions, the solicitors have told donors the funds would be used to send a local child to a law enforcement summer camp.

State police say never make arrangements to have someone pick up money from your home and always ask for official police identification.

Police, as always, stress common sense.
