Senator Lugar Touting Bill To Get Healthy Meals At Schools

Last updated on Thursday, March 25, 2010

(UNDATED) - Indiana Senator Richard Lugar is touting a federal bill to help kids get nutritious meals and snacks at school.

The bipartisan legislation invests $4.5 billion in new child nutrition program funding over the next ten years.

On Wednesday, Lugar was able to amend the bill to expand eligibility for students who are 18 and younger, instead of the previously defined 12 year-old cut-off.
