Over 500 Gather At Statehouse To Protest Healthcare Reform

Last updated on Tuesday, March 16, 2010

(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - A crowd estimated at just over 500 rallied on the south steps of the Indiana Statehouse to “kill the bill”, meaning the health care reform package in congress.

Indiana Congressman Mike Pence says "we don't like health care reform that forces every American to buy health insurance whether they want or need it or not."

Pence said Republicans will support meaningful reforms, but first he said, "we've got to kill the bill."

The Indianapolis Tea Party organized the rally, which produced a simultaneous rally by a group of more than 100 supporters of the bill.
