Last updated on Wednesday, March 10, 2010

(MUNCIE, IN) - A man convicted of murdering a Muncie woman a year ago was given the maximum 65 year prison sentence Tuesday in Delaware Circuit Court.

41-year-old Robert A.C. Murphy was accused of killing 29-year-old Deborah Stafford in March 2009 after failing to collect a drug-related debt owed by her boyfriend.

Murphy did not testify at his bench trial, but maintained DNA evidence did not link him to the crime scene.
