Senate Committee Endorses Firearms House Bill

(STATEHOUSE, IN) - An Indiana senate committee has endorsed a house bill that would allow people to bring most firearms to the workplace, if the weapons are kept in a locked vehicle.

The group voted 7-0 to approve the measure after adding amendments to the initial version.

Under the terms of the bill, firearms can be prohibited from vehicles parked on school-owned properties, some child care centers and domestic shelters, correctional facilities and a person's private residence.
