Republicans To Have Primary Battle For Buyer's Seat

Last updated on Tuesday, February 2, 2010

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Republicans will have a primary battle for the chance to replace Steve Buyer in congress.

Three days after buyer announced he'd give up the seat, Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced he'll run for the job.

So has Buyer's District Director, Wheatfield State Senator Brandt Hershman. Hershman says he has Buyer's endorsement.

A political unknown, Cheryl Allen of Martinsville, is also running.

And Indianapolis Senator Mike Young, who lost a primary challenge to buyer in 2002, says he'll make a decision by the end of the week.
