New Airline Restrictions Eased

Last updated on Tuesday, December 29, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - New security restrictions put into place after a botched attempt to blow up an airliner have been eased after two days.

Industry officials say at the captain's discretion, passengers can once again have blankets and other items on their laps or move about the cabin during the end of the flight.

The federal government never outlined the new restrictions, saying they didn't want terrorists to know about potential security measures.

Travel industry experts felt the restrictions could make business travelers think twice about flying if the increased security means more time at the airport.
