Writer Of Half-Million Bounced Check To See No Jail Time

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The founder of Premier Properties USA will not spend time in jail.

52-year-old Christopher P. White was sentenced Wednesday to a year on home detention and he must pay back $382,000 dollars to the bank that cleared his company's payroll check.

White was found guilty in august of check fraud, theft and fraud on a financial institution.

Prosecutors said white authorized a half-million dollar check to cover his company's payroll, but an investment deal he had hoped would cover it never materialized.

The kited check, written on a National Bank of Indianapolis account, bounced.

White's company, Premier Properties USA, developed the Metropolis Mall in Plainfield and properties in other states.
