(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - Purdue University will use a $50,000 dollar gift to support two initiatives that will help both educators and students in computer-related fields.

Half of the gift from state farm will benefit the college of science through the Department of Computer Science's Project CS4EDU (Computer Science for Education Majors Project).

State Farm is also funding a workshop for high school computer science teachers in Indiana on November 21 at Purdue.

The other half of the gift will go toward a laboratory upgrade for the Department of Computer and Information Technology, housed in the college of technology.
