(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Smoking in public places could soon be banned completely in Indianapolis, if a proposed law passes the city-county council tonight.
Opponents say they will lose business, but those who favor the ban say the risks of secondhand smoke are too great.
The ordinance would also ban smoking within 25 feet of bars and restaurant entrances which would make it illegal to smoke on patios too.
An exemption to the ban would be given to cigar and hookah bars.
