(MIDDLETOWN, IN) - A Middletown doctor won't be able to practice medicine for 90-days.

The Indiana medical licensing board granted the State Attorney General's office request for a temporary suspension of Dr. Philip Foley's license.

The call came after a review of records revealed he had written the prescriptions for nine patients who died of drug overdoses.

Further review showed Foley had written over $93,000 prescriptions in just over 3 years.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller called Foley a "clear and present danger" to public safety in the suspension request.

The 73-year-old doctor is defending his practice.

The AG's office may seek to suspend Foley's license to practice medicine in Indiana permanently.
