Miami County Girl Receiving An "Extreme Home Makeover"

(BUNKER HILL, IN) - A Miami County girl suffering from a blood disease with a giving heart will be the recipient of a new home courtesy of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover:”

Home Edition." the television show has tapped into the resources of Anderson-based Hallmark Homes to build a new home for 12-year-old Kori Cowan and her family.

Kori was diagnosed with a congenital blood disease affecting her immune system at the age of 6.

Despite the continuing battles with her own health, Kori has raised over $35,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society to help her best friend whom she met during one of her many trips to the hospital.

The Kori and her family were notified this morning and will spend the next 5 days at Disneyworld while Hallmark Homes and the Extreme Makeover crew build a new home outside of Bunker Hill.

American Idol winner David Cook is expected to help with the build.

Cook has family in the area and spent his child summers in his childhood in nearby Kokomo.
