(MICHIGAN CITY, IN) - A Michigan City man will spend 45 years in prison and testify against his wife under the terms of a plea agreement reached with prosecutors over the death of his 4-year-old stepdaughter.
37-year-old Scott Bruce agreed to plead guilty to felony neglect of a dependent.
Authorities say Savannah Pioch was found beaten to death and tied in a sleeping bag inside her home.
Her mother, 25-year-old Melissa Bruce, is scheduled for trial in January on three counts of neglect of a dependent.
