Investigators Identify Man Found In Shallow Grave

Last updated on Friday, October 16, 2009

(FRANKLIN, IN) - Investigators have identified the body the man found in a shallow grave last year in the Atterbury Fish and Wildlife Area.

Johnson County Detectives say DNA analysis confirms he is Sahbaz Jasarevic from Bosnia.

The 35 year-old man was found under three feet of dirt in April 2008.

Investigators think Jasarevic visited relatives on the west coast and stopped briefly in Indianapolis.

He was probably murdered in December 2007.

Steve Byerly with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department says investigators originally thought Jasarevic was Mexican-based upon a fraudulent ID found on his body.

Now investigators are looking for help from anyone who may have known him or who he associated with in the short time he was in central Indiana.
