Indiana Math Scores "An Indication Of Needed Improvement"

Last updated on Thursday, October 15, 2009

(UNDATED) - Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett says math scores for Indiana fourth and eighth graders on the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress are another indication that more need to be done to improve academic achievement.

This year's results show Indiana students outscored the national average, but little improvement compared to previous years.

Bennett is calling for "bold and rapid" reform to help improve the education of Hoosier children, saying it all comes down to instructional quality.
