Former Marine Opens Fire At Police

(WINCHESTER, IN) - A Randolph County man is in custody after firing at police officers Friday night.

Police were called to the home of a woman who said her brother broke into her house and threatened the babysitter.

26-year-old Andrew Ward, a former Marine had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but later returned with guns.

Police say he began firing the weapons at the officers then ran toward them with his hands in the air.

Ward was tazed after several demands to stop.

He was arrested on multiple charges.
