(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - Family and friends of a Terre Haute soldier are mourning his death.
Dale Griffin, a 1999 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School, was killed this week while fighting in Afghanistan.
The US Military says he, along with six other soldiers and an afghan interpreter, died when their armored vehicle ran into an improvised explosive device.
While at Terre Haute South High School, Griffin was a state runner up in wrestling.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
