(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Crown Hill Cemetery visitors got to view a portion of the Aids Memorial Quilt Sunday.
The quilt is a worldwide collection of 47,000 panels honoring those who have died from HIV disease.
The display near the Indiana Aids Memorial at the Indianapolis Cemetery showed 18 of the 12 foot by 12 foot panels from the quilt, most of which have a Hoosier connection.
Ed Alexander with the Indiana names project says either the person whose story is told on the quilt panel is from Indiana or the quilt maker is a Hoosier.
He says the quilt is an opportunity for people to pay respects to the people represented on the quilt who have died from HIV and to learn more about the Indiana Aids Memorial.
