(KOKOMO, IN) - Dozens of Ball State University students are part of the latest "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" effort in rural Miami County.

About 40 journalism students were hired by Hallmark Homes to build a social networking website about the project, so interested residents could get a feel for the those involved and the impact they're making.

Ball State University Assistant Professor of Journalism Brad King says it's the kind of experience you can't teach in a classroom.

The project was unveiled Tuesday afternoon, less than one week after ABC surprised the Cowan-Brown family Wednesday with the announcement that they were getting a new home.

You can check out pictures, videos and 3-D visualizations from the project at www.hallmarkblogs.com.
