(MONGO, IN) - Police say a two-vehicle crash in LaGrange County Sunday killed a student at IPFW who was just eight credits shy of receiving his engineering degree.

26-year-old Mark Wilmes was northbound on State Road Three, about a 1/2 mile south of Mongo, when he swerved into the path of another vehicle.

Authorities are still investigating what caused him to lose control of his car.

Wilmes was scheduled to receive his degree in the spring.
