(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A north-side Indianapolis school has a brand-new playground after a daylong construction blitz by 250 volunteers.

Parents from IPS Eliza Blaker School 55 joined forces with volunteers from National Starch, Lucas Oil, Northminster Presbyterian Church and the Indianapolis Colts to build a Colts-themed play area, with a rock-climbing wall, swingset and slide, all painted in Colts Blue.

Colts Wide Receiver Pierre Garcon and NRHA Driver Morgan Lucas lent some celebrity help to the six-hour construction effort.

Washington, DC-based nonprofit Kaboom!, which organized the effort, has built more than 16-hundred playgrounds, ice rinks, skateparks and sports fields across the US Since its founding in 1995.

Students at school 55 designed the playground themselves in July, picking out the kinds of equipment they wanted to replace the aging equipment that had been there.

About 300 kindergartners through eighth graders attend the school.
