Last updated on Friday, September 11, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indiana is seeking a federal disaster declaration for Marion County and 13 other counties drenched by torrential rains last month.

August 4th storms soaked Indiana with up to 10 inches of rain, with high winds and a tornado thrown in for good measure.

Governor Daniels has requested assistance to individuals in Marion, Rush, Clark and Jackson counties.

The state is seeking reimbursement for local governments in five counties for their storm cleanup costs.

Five counties are seeking both.
