State Attempting To Fix Welfare Eligibilty Program

Last updated on Wednesday, July 8, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The state has ordered an IBM-led Consortium to fix problems with the way it determines eligibility for welfare by October, or lose the contract.

The family and social services administration froze the statewide rollout of privatization last year to address what it called glitches in the first 59 counties.

Spokesman Marcus Barlow says an IBM review team found 400 problems to be addressed, and made 200 recommendations.
