Famed Hagerstown Restaurant Saved By Business Man

Last updated on Wednesday, July 8, 2009

(HAGERSTOWN) - A businessman from Hamilton County has come forward to save a landmark restaurant in Hagerstown.

Tony Bucher recently bought Welliver's Smorgasbord, which was facing closure because of a huge tax debt.

Bucher owns the building across the street from the 62-year-old eatery.

He has no plans to change the name or style of the restaurant, allowing 50 employees to keep their jobs.
