(ANDERSON) - An Anderson couple, who police say tried to steal from Kmart with the help of a minor, has landed themselves behind bars.
John Niccum and Destiny Carter are accused of loading up stolen goods, stuffing them inside a stolen purse and then telling the 12 year old to walk out with it.
Carter is also in trouble for allegedly pushing nearly $400 in stolen items from the store in a shopping cart.
Police foiled the trio's operation after the girl scuffled with the store's loss prevention officers.
Niccum and Carter face a conversion charge, plus a charge for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Their in jail on $5,000 bond.
