Training Inc. Offering Classes For Low Income Indy Residents

Last updated on Monday, June 22, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Training, Inc. is a United Way Agency that provides job skills training for low income people in the Indianapolis area.

Peggy Frame with Training, Inc. says the agency is unique because the classes simulate going to work, especially in an office environment.

Courses last 12 weeks in which people learn hard skills, like using Microsoft office, and soft skills such as being punctual and dressing appropriately for a job.

Frame says they're also working with Ivy Tech to offer a logistics program in warehousing and distribution, which lasts five weeks.

Those who complete this course become qualified to apply for entry level warehousing jobs.

Training, Inc also offers some internships where people can network and get a feel for working for a particular company.
