Jury Being Seated In Former Police Officers Drug Trafficking Case

Last updated on Tuesday, June 2, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A jury is being seated in the federal trial of two Indianapolis Police Officers accused of drug trafficking.

Federal investigators say former officers Jason Edwards and Robert Long were operating a marijuana drug ring.

A third officer, James Davis, has pleaded guilty for his role in the drug ring and is expected to testify against his former coworkers.

Prosecutors say the former officers raided a home and an apartment and stole money and several pounds of marijuana.

IMPD Chief Michael Spears said after the officers' arrest last year that he was "disgusted" and considered the men criminals.
