Indy Capital Board Voting Today On Rescue Plan

Last updated on Wednesday, June 17, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The rescue plan for Indy’s Capital Improvement Board faces a do-or-die committee vote Wednesday morning after a failed first attempt to pass it.

Fort Wayne republican Randy Borror says he intended to vote for a package of local tax hikes, but changed his mind after hearing city officials' presentation.

Borror declined to elaborate, but legislators appeared frustrated at controller David Reynolds' warning the city might have to return for more money in four years or so.

And city officials say they're still crunching numbers to see if they agree with governor Daniels' estimates of available savings.
